Solana Deads

Magic Eden shut down EVM and Bitcoin NFTs. Here's where your collections still trade.

If you held or created NFTs on Ethereum, Polygon, Base, BNB Chain or Bitcoin, the venue you used most likely stopped serving you in March 2026. This is a chain-by-chain guide to what's still available — including the chains we don't cover.

Published 29 July 2026 · Written by the team behind GraveMarket, which is one of the options listed below. We've tried to be straight about that.

What actually happened

In late February 2026, Magic Eden announced it was winding down its non-Solana NFT marketplaces. Public reporting at the time put the sequence roughly like this:

The stated reasoning was economic: the non-Solana side accounted for a large share of operating cost against a small share of revenue, while Solana carried the overwhelming majority of volume. That's a defensible business decision, and this page isn't an argument about it. The practical consequence is what matters here — a lot of collections lost their primary venue, and a lot of people are still looking for where to go.

Your NFTs are fine. A marketplace shutting down does not affect ownership. Your tokens live on their respective chains and in your wallet; what you lost is a place to list them and a front-end to view them through. Any marketplace that supports the chain can pick them up. If you used Magic Eden's multi-chain wallet specifically, make sure you have the seed phrase or have moved the assets to a wallet you control before doing anything else.

Where each chain stands

Below is what we can speak to honestly. The "GraveMarket" column reflects what we actually index today, not what we intend to support — and on several chains our coverage is thin. We've included that number so you can judge for yourself rather than take a marketing claim at face value.

If you hold Bitcoin Ordinals or Runes, we can't help you. We don't support Bitcoin and have no plans announced for it. That's roughly half the audience this shutdown affected, and pretending otherwise would waste your time — the venues in the last row are the ones to look at.

A note on thin coverage

You'll notice the non-Solana numbers above are small. That's real. We index collections that have been onboarded rather than crawling entire chains, so a collection that has never been submitted won't appear yet. If yours is missing, it can be added — but you should weigh that against a venue that already has your chain's liquidity. For most Ethereum and Polygon collections, OpenSea is still the deepest market and we'd rather say so than pretend.

Where we think we're genuinely worth a look is the long tail the large marketplaces have retreated from: XRPL's XLS-20 NFTs, Abstract, Cronos, and newer chains where nobody has established coverage yet.

If you're a creator, not just a holder

A shutdown is a decent moment to reduce how much any single venue can affect you:

If you want to launch or re-launch a collection across several chains, that's what GraveMint does. Again — one option among several, and you should compare.

The wider picture

Magic Eden's retreat wasn't isolated. Over roughly the same period, several pieces of shared NFT infrastructure also wound down: DappRadar shut down in November 2025, Reservoir ended its NFT API in October 2025, and SimpleHash was absorbed into Phantom in early 2025. A lot of the neutral connective tissue between marketplaces disappeared at once.

Practically, that means fewer places aggregate listings across venues than a year ago, so where you list matters more than it used to. It's worth checking that whichever marketplace you choose actually indexes your chain rather than assuming an aggregator will surface you anyway.
